Geocaching in the Snow!

We are getting slammed with another big snowstorm today :( We decided to go out this morning before it got here to get a few caches in, and we've beat our record! We found 5 today, then had to come in since it started snowing harder, about 4 inches on the ground now and about 14 more to go. Below are the pictures of our finds today! We tried our new gps unit and it worked great!

Our second day of hunting for caches

So we had to go back at it today, and found 3 more! Pictures below of our find. I think we have found a new hobby! Andrew has decided to leave a Lightning McQueen sticker in each of the micros as his trademark :)

Our first find today: This one was in the parking lot of Chris's work. He had seen someone checking out this tree around Christmas time and thought someone was planning to cut it down for their tree. If he'd only known about Geocaching then :)

Our second cache of the day Andrew was able to spot right away, I think he's got the Geocacher eye! Pictures below:

And our final stop of the day was at Best Buy, no caches here, but we did get something pretty cool! This will make our new found hobby so exciting (a little easier too!).

Our first night time geocache!

So we wanted to try this one today, unfortunately there were just too many people around. So we ventured out at 10pm and found it right away! It was just a log only, but we decided to leave a penny in there for good luck

We're Hooked!

On our way to grab some dinner tonight we stopped by a location and found our second cache! I guess this means we are officially hooked! Pictures below of the cache.

Our First Find!

We aren't mugglers anymore! We just learned about geocaching yesterday and we were so excited to begin. Today we decided to brave the wind and the cold and go on our first cache find. After searching on www.geocaching.com we found a cache was hidden just down the street from our house. We have passed this so many times and never knew! Andrew, 5 was the most excited. I have put some photos below of our first find. And there will be many more to come, after the weather warms up a bit!
