Andrew's First Cache

Andrew hid his first cache today! He has been gathering things to fill it and decided today was the day he wanted to hide it. We picked a close park to hide it in so maintaining it will not be hard at all! He can't wait to see the comments from the cachers that find it!

It's a hot one today!

Hottest day of the year so far, perfect for geo-caching! We found 3, two of which were the hardest yet! The first I found and Andrew found the smallest nano we have ever seen! Enjoy the pictures!

A couple Mother's Day Caches!

It turned out to be a beautiful evening so we decided to make it out for a couple of caches tonight. We found two that were hidden in a nice little park with a walking path around a little lake. It was a nice walk. We even brought Trixie, our Geo Pup with, she loved it!

Hardest Cache Yet!

We saw a new cache pop up on the email and thought we'd give it a try. I was rated pretty high but we didn't expect it to be this hard! We were searching in the rain for probably about an hour when we saw someone walking up to us. Andrew says momma a muggle! But it wasn't, it was a fellow Geo-cacher, and also the co hider of the cache. With a few hints from him Andrew actually spotted it! It was a teenie tiny log book hidden inside a home made pine cone container, it was really fun especially getting to meet another cacher.

Another couple of caches today!

We saw a new cache pop up and ran out to grab it. We didn't get first to find, but we did get second to find! Andrew traded a bouncy ball for a rubber snake.

There was another cache hidden in the same park so we decided to grab that one at the same time. These two put us up to 33 Geo-caches!

Perfect day for some caches!

Today the weather was gorgeous! We decided to get out and get some caches logged. Our first stop was to The Home Depot so Andrew could make his project at the kids workshop. He built a flower planter. After we stopped at a park right next to Home Depot and found our first of the day.
Our next stop was at a little park just across the street. It was a hidden in a tree with good cammo, but we nabbed it.

The next was pretty tricky, and one of our two hardest from the day. The GPS didn't want to keep a signal in the heavily wooded area so we'd have to go to a more open area and count our steps. Well we finally spotted it, but it was hidden well-inside a log!
Since this one took so long to find, we took a few minutes and played on the playground that we parked near.
The next one was just hidden behind a bush in a nearby park, but was still really well hidden...can you spot the cache?
This next one was hidden in a sort of empty lot behind Rainbow Foods. There was a huge pile of rocks, we searched and searched for nearly half an hour and found nothing. As we were just ready to give up Andrew realized he dropped a swag from earlier in the day and we went back to look for it. Luckily we did because we spotted the cache! When we found it there was a mouse guarding it, once we scared him off we were able to make the grab.
The next we found wasn't in such great shape, it looked like someone had cut it open, but we still found it.
Our last one of the day was at the Alimagnet Dog Park. We stopped by home to grab Trixie since we didn't want people wondering why we were at the dog park without a dog. We found it inside a bird house. And Trixie had a blast playing with the other dogs. She is now passed out on the couch.
Trixie and Andrew at the dog park.
With the ones we found today, we are up to 27 caches!!

Our 20th Cache, and First-First to Find!

With how popular Geocaching is around here, we didn't think we'd ever get a first to find! I saw one pop up so we made our way out to it, and we were first to find! Andrew was absolutely elated! He got a special first to find window decoration!

First warm day of spring and our 19th Cache!

These first pictures are actually from March 16th, it was 58° outside, we had to hit a couple of parks in our neighborhood!

This one we did today (March 22). It was at the zoo. We had just visited the zoo yesterday, but didn't bring the GPS, so today we ran out and grabbed this one. We also stopped by JoAnn Fabrics and got some camouflage duct tape and we are getting ready to hide our very own caches!

Our New GeoSwag!

We wanted to create something neat for swag items. We came up with a pretty neat idea and they turned out great! We can't wait to leave one in our next find! We have done a few more caches, and are up to 17 now!

Well here are our newest swag items, they are 2 sizes.

Geocaching in the Snow!

We are getting slammed with another big snowstorm today :( We decided to go out this morning before it got here to get a few caches in, and we've beat our record! We found 5 today, then had to come in since it started snowing harder, about 4 inches on the ground now and about 14 more to go. Below are the pictures of our finds today! We tried our new gps unit and it worked great!
